It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that Lee Passell, President and CEO of NorthCoast Health Care Management Services has passed away.
We are tremendously grateful for Lee’s leadership and dedication to our company and our customers over the past 40 years. His commitment to our colleagues and our customers alike is evident in the succession plan he put in place several years ago to help ensure the future of this company that he worked so hard to build.
Katie Svoboda, Cathy Ching-Jones and Elizabeth Conley will continue to lead this company, just as they did with Lee’s guidance.
Together, Katie, Cathy and Elizabeth have 79 years’ experience with NorthCoast and/or related companies. Over the past several years, Lee entrusted more responsibility to Katie, Cathy and Elizabeth to help them become the leaders they are today. A long-standing team of respected legal, financial and business advisors is in place to provide support to the team, just as they did for Lee.
Because you are an important part of the NorthCoast Health Care family, we wanted to make sure we reached out to you directly to reassure you that you will continue to receive the same high-quality service, even through this difficult time.
To many of us, Lee was more than a business partner. He was a friend and a mentor and he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lee’s wife, Merle, his son, Grant and the entire NorthCoast family.

NorthCoast Health Care Management Services is an integrated network of providers for home health, home infusion, hospice, and chronic care management services. We provide comprehensive management of the patient’s health plan benefits for appropriate utilization of services for the patient and the health plan. Our goal is to obtain the highest patient outcomes in the most cost-efficient manner possible.
NorthCoast’s extensive panel of providers, all credentialed and contracted, provides services to all 88 counties in the state of Ohio and the contiguous counties in the surrounding states. With more than 250 providers, our network is comprised of hospital-based, not-for-profit, and for-profit, independent providers. They are local, regional and national providers dedicated to providing the highest quality care in the home and other alternate site settings. Our network provides services for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and all other Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans, Anthem Medicare Advantage including members delegated to myNEXUS, Medical Mutual of Ohio, and other Health Plans.
